श्री संजीव सिंघल जी महाराष्ट्र पुलिस के  ADG CID हैं. संजीव जी उत्तर प्रदेश के शामली जिले के रहने वाले हैं. सिंघल जी की  आरंभिक पढ़ाई नैनीताल और अल्मोड़ा  में हुई हैं.  १२ वी  क्लास के बाद सिंघल जी का चयन IIT रूड़की  में हो गया था.

Singhal is an officer of 1992 batch of Indian Police Service. Having qualified as Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Telecommunication) through University of Roorkee with distinction, he completed his M. Tech. through IIT, New Delhi in May 1990. He completed his Master degree in Police Management through Osmania University. Hyderabad in Police Management.

Having posted in Rajura sub division on Nov. 11, 1995 as Assistant Superintendent of Police, SInghal was first posted in Pune in 2000. He served as Deputy Commissioner for just three months then. Then he was transferred to Solapur (Rural). He came back to the city as DIG three years ago in Police Wireless Unit. Since February 2009, he is also serving in his present post.

Accolades came easy for SInghal. During IPS training, he was squad captain and his squad was adjudged best squad. He was also adjudged best shooter of his batch.

In his stint as DIG (Wireless), he planned and implemented dial 100 (GIS GPS) system for Pune, Nagpur and Navi Mumbai. He implemented computerised crypto centre scheme in the state. He was also instrumental in implementing an innovative scheme of message transmission over VHF through computer, which is first of its kind in India. He was awarded DGP’s insignia on May 1, 2006 for his excellent track record.

During his stint since last year as Addl. CP, he has conducted All India Police Championship (Wrestling Cluster). His achievements include catching a gang of dacoits. As DCP in Nagpur city, he personally conducted an operation in which an inner state gang involved in kidnapping of businessman of Orissa and asking for a ransom of Rs 10 Crores was caught red hand. Gang members were arrested from Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Chattisgarh and hostage was successfully rescued. The DGP of Orissa commended his role in the operation. In July 2006, he was posted as Superintendent of Police at Aurangabad (Rural). He was also appointed as co-ordinator for detection of serious dacoities in Maharashtra. It led to arrest of four major gangs of dacoits.
